A profile tells me nothing. Anyone can lie when filling it out. I think what is more telling is number of posts and subjects they are posting about. I always do some detective work if I'm purchasing something from a member here or any other internet site.

I don't know if I would go so far as to assume that someone is trying to hide something or is shady cause they don't fill out their profile page. You have ways of being protected when you make purchases online. I do agree that the number of posts, type of posts and/or time on the forum can help make a more informed decision when buying or selling merchandise.
