Default my little rant

2/24/09

Hi xxxxxxx. (prospective seller)

The reason for my delay is that I’ve had to make a decision in a situation by which I have not yet been confronted.

The bottom line is that I have decided not to send $$ blindly to an unknown (new CF since only xxxxxxxxxx), who hides in anonymity by not filling out his profile. What do you want people to think? As far as I am concerned, there is no reason not to fill out a profile.

I’ve been a CF member for three years, and have been engaged in many, many flawless transactions (except for 2 low $$ ones, where I received shoddy merchandise.)

So, in the final analysis, since it is NOT YOU, who is at a disadvantage, but who can check me out to your heart’s content, I suggest that you ship the xxxxxx before I pay you. Since my profile is out there, in full view, for the whole world to see who I am, I have no fear of being slandered, for any reason. In the alternative, I’m not so poor that I can’t pay full price for a xxxxxxx somewhere else, where I know who I’m doing business with.

No reply is necessary, unless you wish to ship the xxxxxxxxx.

Regards, GRT
======

So, this is my newly derived at policy. With no name, nor address provided by the seller - I want nothing to do with him/her from the buyers end; as a matter of principle alone, because there are too many people here, on CF, who do not hide. When people hide in anonymity, one has to ask why. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are going to be dishonest, but it just does not look good, and it doesn’t instill confidence. GRT

I don't buy things from folks who don't fill out their profile either!

Sometimes, I think I've put too much info on the profile, but then, I've nothing to hide...Can't gain respect while you're in the dark. And, You're right to demand to know who's selling..... Dave. (Ct.)

I've nothing to hide either, plus the profile helps us to get to know each other better no matter where we are.

When I joined, the first item of business was filling out the profile. I am proud of who I am and what I've acomplished.

Put it out there for all to see!!!

I won't buy from a member that doesn't fill out their profile. It's like they're trying to hide something.

Nothing worse than talking to someone with no profile. What are people afraid of ? It's not like you're posting an address or phone number.
