I've got a question about the DIC buttons. Shouldn't I hear a beep (tone) when I push any of the DIC buttons on my C5? When I touch a button on my C6 I do have a beep (tone). I thought I use to on my C5 but I'm not sure, seems like I use to. Maybe because I noticed a tone when I touched a button on my C6 is why I noticed no tone on my C5. If I should have a tone on my C5, is there a way to turn it on or off? I searched through owners manual and come up with nothing. If I should get a tone when I touch one of the DIC buttons, mines broke. Help!
I don't think you get a beep when you just cycle through the menus, but you will at certain times. if you reset any DIC codes, reset the oil change interval, change vehicle options etc. just going through different readout displays it stays silent.

Thanks for reply, I was wondering if I had a defect or not. Thanks again.
It should beep after you reset a DIC message... for example if you clear the "COMPETITIVE DRIVING" indicator.
I havn't tried to see if I get a tone in that situation or after any reset for that matter. I'll give that a try next time I'm out. Thanks for that bit of info.

My 2003 c5 does have a tone although it is really weak now. Was told at the corvette museum that we could have turned the volume down by accident. I just haven't figured it out yet though. But there is a tone on mine anyway.
This mode is when AH is ON but TC is OFF. Requires you to push the TC button for at least 5 seconds. When activated the message will show up in the DIC display.
I am not sure if all AH cars have it or not. Refer to your owners manual. Of course, in the great GM style, it defines what it is but not how to make it happen. At least not in 2001.

Thanks! I will have to press and hold tomorrow to see...of course, I would be stupid to remove all driver aides and say I can keep her under control
