I go by the DIC but it never comes close so I change at 1 year or 10,000 miles whichever is first!

You do not have to use Mobil-1 by the way, any synthetic with the GM spec 4094M will be fine. Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Syntec, and Valvoline Synpower will all do fine

Steve
I believe it should be GM4718M spec.

Wow,,I guess I'm the odd man out here!! I've had it 13 months,,had it changed when I bought it,,and just changed it for the 2nd time myself!! That's running the OLM down to 10% the first time,,1% the last time(yard too wet to get back to my other garage with the lift) Averaging around 1K a month,, and I'm RETIRED!! Drive it year round(except when the snow flies!! And this time (GASP) I used Valvoline synthetic 5w30 to give it a try!!

That's sacrilegious man, don't you know that they come from the factory with Mobil 1 and you are committed to using only that brand for the life of the car or it will blow up into a big ball of flames.

by the way, I change mine in the fall before it goes into storage ( DIC usually shows 30-45% left ) and I use ( GASP ) Pennzoil myself.

Like I said earlier I change it once a year but .....first year I changed it 3 times ! The dealer gave me 3 free oil change coupons and would not extend them into the next year ! ( go figure) so.....in one year I had them change it 3 times ! Hey I can play any game as long as I know the rules. Yeah it was a waste but for them not me. And we wonder why GM is in a bad way huh?
