Default Throwing some codes, not sure what is wrong

Hey guys. My car is throwing some codes and I am not sure why. Here are the codes.

P1120
P1220
P1516

Reduced Engine Power
Service Active Handling
Service Traction System

My battery is on it's last leg and is about to get replaced. I know that can cause all kinds of problems. Any ideas about what it might be, if not the battery? Looks like a bunch of codes dealing with the TPS.

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

p1120, throttle position sensor#1
p1220 throttle positon sensor #2
p1516 throttle actuator control
Batteries are cheaper to replace than paying a mechanic, especially if you kow it's weak anyhow... Check your grounding circuits and batery terminals also.
go from there...

Dying batteries cause all kinds of problems. Replace the battery, clear the codes, and see if they come back.
In the meantime, check the accordian tubes in the doors. Pull them back to see if you have an exposed wire. This happens on a regular basis around here, and is often the cause of many code problems.

Well, against my better judgement, I will share with all of you my solution to the problem.

See if you can figure it out...

I also replaced the battery, I got it tested and it was bad.

It is still saying Service Active Handing and Service Traction System though, so I don't know what is going on there.

I did my rear brakes a while back, but I made sure all wires were hooked back up and they were bled properly, so I don't know if that is a factor.

My center console is off right now because I was doing some interior work. Would having the switch unplugged cause that warning?

That is real common with a bad battery.

Are you getting that code with the new battery, and have you cleared all the codes from before?

Peace

Yeah, I replaced the battery and cleared the codes and when I started the car back up the messages came up again.

Did any battery acid leak down and get on the computer?

If not, I'd start going through the grounds

The throttle actuator codes are causing the Service Traction Control and Service Active Handling messages. Once you resolve the throttle problems the ABS system messages will go away. The service messages are caused because the throttle system cannot respond to potential torque reduction requests from the EBCM.

Bill

Thanks for the info Bill. I know a few vehicles that throw TC codes when other things go wrong, hopefully this is it.

I replaced the battery, then started the car and reset the codes. Shut the car off, restarted it and the check engine light is off and error codes are gone, but still saying Service Active Handling and Service Traction System. Is there another step I need to do?

Do you think it could have anything to do with my center console being removed and that switch being unplugged? If it's a nice day tomorrow I'll be putting my interior back together so I will find out, but I don't think that is it.

Thanks for the help.
