if i wanted to do straight pipe coodnt i just go to a muffler shop and have them cut the muffler out and replace it with piping instead of spending $400 for the borla straight pipes

On corvettes straight pipes make the car sound like its broken or has a bad exhaust leak. The exhaust should be chambered for a really nice sound. GHL Bullets is what you want.
Go on youtube and search for ZexZo6 , I have 2 videos on there. I had Ecklers longtube headers, high flow cats, and the borla straight pipes; along with a really big cam though - the sound will be different from a car with the stock cam.

I agree with this. I had straightpipes on with the stock H-pipe and it sounded terrible idling and even cruising down the road. The only time straight pipes sound good is WOT. Get the chambered pipe like the bullets. You will be glad you did.

This is also a very good idea if you want to just cruise without the loud exhaust ALL THE TIME
