MGW in a C5Z?

MGW in a C5Z?
I've read lots of good things about the new MGW short shifter, so I'm thinking of installing it as one of the first mods to a 2002 Z06 I'm close to purchasing. I'm of very limited experience with mechanicals, so would it be better to buy it and have it installed by a professional? Or should I just wait and get used to driving it stock and then start modding?

The shifter is different, but the installation procedure is the same for every shifter made for a C5.
It is very unlikely that you would prefer the OEM over the MGW.

Not hard to install. Absolutely one of the best bang for the buck mods. The stock shifter is mediocre at best, and the MGW is a very well made product. This is the scond time today I have replied to an MGW thread

The shifter is well worth the money, for me. Installation is straight forward and MGW includes a video to follow for the install. There is also a ton of help here on the forum.This is probably a good first mod as you will be breaking in/ learning to use the shifter as you determine your next mod.
