A few weeks ago I saw a thread by someone selling black strips that mount under the car by the jacking points. The idea was that they would take the beating on lowered cars rather than the rocker panels. I can't find that thread for the life of me now, and I was interested in getting a pair. Can anyone point me to that thread? Thanks.

Check with Chip at CCA....vendor on the left side of the page. I just got a set myself a week or two ago.
I picked up mine from A&A Corvette. I got a job lot including the frame savers (small wheels under the nose) which are also well worth the $$. Both do a great job and the rocker rails are strong enough to allow you to jack up the car on the rails.
CCA and Elite Engineering both sell a more complex design which include slots to allow you to fit jacking pucks with the rail in place. Mine dont.

Actually the CCA ones don't. I just got a set and will have to take my BMW jacking pucks out to install the rails.
Removed my pucks when I installed the rails. Now jack the rail as it runs by the jacking point. No problem and looks a lot better. The front frame savers got a real scraping last week and earned their price.
