You might want to take a look at the Nitto 555 Extreme Performance tires. I have used these on two different C5s and have been very happy with their wear, handling, and ride capabilities.
I also am looking at replacing my Goodyear EMT tires this spring. I have done alot of research and agree that going with the non runflats seems to be the way to go. Especially in my case where I am not using the car as a daily driver. Thanks to everyone for your comments on tire choices.
I would welcome some advice and feedback from some C5 owners. I have a stock '98 Sliver Sebring Metallic coupe with less than 22,000 miles that I've owned for about a year and a half. It needs new tires. I've been planning on Michelin Pilot Sport All Season Plus Zero Pressure tires. The best prices I've found are $944.00 which doesn't include mounting and balancing (add approx. $112 for road hazard protection). I also found these tires locally for $1,194 out the door (add $132.50 for free replacement certificates).
Since my auto insurance has 24/7 roadside assistance. I'm leaning towards going without the EMT tires. That being said, I'm looking for great all-season performance tires that are going to stand up to daily driving with good tread wear for at least 30,000 miles, preferably $40,000+ miles.
And recommendations. Thanks.
I'm on my second set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZPs, except this set is the newer generation "Plus" models. These are exceptional ultra high performance tires with a 500 wear rating. This is the difference in the Plus vs first generation. The mileage was boosted by a reformulation of the layers.
I got about 14K on my OEM F1 EMTs until I couldn't stand it anymore.
If you don't mind spending similar dollars as the OEM look at Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZPs, this is made in C5 stock sizes and is the OEM tire for the '09 ZR1. This is a maximum performance tire.
Where did you get that price quote? ASX's should cost you about $620 mounted and balanced. That's what it cost me from Tire Rack. I would have gotten Michelins had the ASX's cost $900...
Goodyear F1 AS tires are good non-runflat all season tires.
As a postscript, did you know that Goodyear OEM Runflats get 3 mpg better mileage than non-runflats. They get better mpg than other runflats also. I know they are expensive, but if you factor in gas savings, they become in-line with other tires. Plus they can go 50 miles on a flat and be fixed (200 miles in a pinch).
Wow! Seriously?! 3 mpg better is pretty impressive. Do you know where I can find comparison data between the Goodyear OEM runflats and other runflats? Thanks in advance. Your help is very much appreciated?

The $888.18 was from www.discounttire.com, which included GA state sales tax and applicable fees. I did see the www.tirerack.com price of $520 before tax, shipping and local installation. Thanks for the info.
