Default Will concealed headlights ever come back?

That's what a few people told me that they liked about C5 over C6...THE CONCEALED headlights. They miss them on the C6.

I just bought a '99 coupe. A friend who is not really into cars, likes my 'vette. One of the reasons - the flip-up headlights. A Corvette should have flip-up headlights. Almost like a Lamborghini without "Lamborghini" doors.

The popups will not come back IMO. Just like T-tops and split windows, technology has moved on.

I'd have to say the non-popups are here to stay. But I wouldn't mind seeing a return to the hideaways either.

non-popups give the Corvette a more aggressive look, but the popups give it a more.....streamlined look (when they're down of course!)

Pop ups, are 'air brakes', I never use them, and I have HIDs!
...but I have Hid. fogs too!

I don't see them coming back. I like how they look on my car but they do look dated.

I'm going to be okay with this kind of "dated".

I love my pop-ups.

Pop ups are one of those design features that give a car a classic look IMHO.

I guess modern regulations have killed them off. Here in UK its to do with pedestrian safety.

while i'd never say never, it's most likely that popups are gone for good.

People have been making non pop ups for C-5`s. So maybe someone should design a pop up for a C-6 it might help improve the looks some.

I hate to say so but I think they're gone for good. The C5 was one of the last hold outs of the pop up lights.

I agree that the concealed headlight have the C5 a smoother look unlike the "shrimp eye" headlights on the C6.

I agree, they are gone for good. Changing regulations allowing aerodynamic clear covers over lights killed them.

Popups are heavy, complicated, and expensive and now offer NO benefits.

Very nice! I believe these are the custom Radio Flyer Group Purchase HIDs detailed in the thread on the C5 main page.
