Highly recommend. It's the best tool in the garage!

I purchased two of these over a five-year period. The price had increased from my first purchase five years prior, and I was not enthused about paying more, however the quality and stability is second to none. I have attended countless auto shows over the last 35 years and I always inspect any lifts that are setup, and I have found none better or equal for that matter.
There is a company – I think in Kansas?? – that copies the Backyard Buddy design and is cheaper, however I have never seen one up close and personal so I can’t attest to the quality of the welds on their lift. The Backyard Buddy welds are actually beautiful and plentiful.
I also recommend that you purchase an extended-height lift, as the runways are longer on these - even if you can’t use the extra height.
A Backyard Buddy Lift will NOT sway back and forth with or without a car or truck on it. Try that with your “open-channel” legged lift – those will sway a lot. Do this at your own risk and do not stand under the lift if you try this. Open channel types should be anchored to the concrete floor to prevent sway and the possibility of the legs “splaying” out like a spider.

I have no association with any lift company.
ALSO - FYI -
I have a 10' 6" ceiling height and can park a Corvette on the lift with a sedan under or the other way around.

Backyard Buddy is a nice lift but their scare tactic ads really turned me off and so did their prices. Most of the cars fallng off the lifts are operator error/inattentiveness.

You can ignore the difference in quality as even the cheap Chinese lifts do work – just be sure to anchor those legs to the floor and keep an eye on the locks to be sure they are engaging securely over time.
Be safe first and foremost.

Bought my B B years ago when they were at Fun Fest. They took me around a building where Mid-America still had a lift they used the year before. That thing almost flapped in the wind. Best money I ever spent,,Its solid. I prefer the safety latch slots being cut into solid 4X4 steel tube that chunks welded to a bent sheet steel channel!! Don't give a secont thought to it when I'm under it wrenching. My only problem is forgetting to duck at the right time sometimes,,I'm 6'2",,ouch
!! I've had the motor/trans in and out several times on my shark.Beats the HELL out of jack stands and crawling in and out from under the car. Popular place for oil changes!!
