Last night I was driving to a local bar&grille in Frisco and came upon a wreck on the other side of the road. When I reached the turn in lane I realized there were parts and one of the cars in the wreck on in the lane so I swerved to avoid the wreck. When I did that the guy behind me swerved as well to avoid hitting me. We hit mirrors only thank god, he said he was going about 60 which is over the posted speed limit. He fishtailed and went over the median once he lost control of his car, but didn't look to have any damage other than his mirror and a light scratch on the door. My car has no mirror left on the passenger side that is it. Do I call my insurance or his? Officer gave us the report number, an said it was a no fault. How should I play this?

Just have of fixed out of pocket. No need to call the insurance co.
I wasn't there but it sounds like you swerved into him. But if it was declared no fault then I don't see how he would get your insurance to pay for his damage.
Depending on your deductible it may not be worth involving the insurance company. However, if the insurance covers it talk to your agent about the potential claim. If you have a safe driver discount that could be impacted. The dollar value of this repair probably isn't enough to cause the company to raise your rates other than removing a safe driver discount. Been through this several times with minor incidents and never had my rates increased.
Replacement and painting of a new mirror is going to run you around $500 nowadays. I replaced the one on my 97 about 7 years ago and it cost $250 at the time.
there were 4 total wrecks at this point all from the first one, myself and the other guy being the 3rd wreck. The officer said "so let me get this straight you were in the turn lane and he was on the side of you and he hit your mirror off" so I am assuring this is how his report will read. My insurance company will call if someone files a claim with them against me correct? If so im not going to worry about calling them now, I have a mirror same color on the way. Anyone have links to a how to on mirrors?
Fix it and be done with it. The only thing would be if the other guy got your number and may be looking to you to fix his car. In all likelihood, he's probabaly thinking the exact same thing you are.
That looks fun..... I bought a mirror off the forums, and will install soon. In the mean time the pieces are ziptied up and out of the way. No scratches on the paint or anything. I am very lucky.
The guy and his dad were very nice everyone was just glad to be ok, as long as the report reads no fault I am not worried about it. We did exchange insurance info per the officers recommendation.
