Default Found something in drivers floor

I was vaccuming the carpets and found a black circular ring or spring with one side broken off. It is about an inch in diameter with a tang sticking out and the other tang broken off. It looks like a spring or tensioner. It was laying on the floor near the pedals. Any clues.

no worries that's how i found mine too - and it was after the wife had been driving the car - i just about freaked - did a search and it turns out to be the clutch return spring, it attaches to the back side of the pedal, it turns out you don't need it so don't panic like i did lol i am sure someone else will chime in - but its all good

cheers steve

You might want to crawl up in there and remove the other half though. Needle nose pliers and it will come right out.

Mine did the same thing. But I got tired of the stiffer pedal after awhile. My GM dealer ordered one up for me for a little over 10 bucks. Fairly easy install upside down on your back.
