Default Help! Door stopped auto-unlocking!

Is this a function that can be turned on/off? The doors still unlock from the remote, door button, and still lock at speed, but after turning the car off the doors wont auto-unlock all of a sudden. It's driving me crazy!

Did you check under your Options?

I think there's a unlock at exit option.

I think I've figured it out. Since I've only had the car a couple months I'm just now getting comfortable with it. I realized that now I pull the key out as I'm turning the ignition off, which doesn't trigger the doors to unlock. If I push in just a little bit to turn it totally off, then remove the key, it unlocks.

Kinda odd.

I was confused about the auto entry and door unlock too. It's kinda weird how it works. Like sometimes it doesn't retract or push out the telesopic wheel or unlock. I'm not really sure though. Maybe someone else can tell us.

Theres a good summary in the Handbook. Its selectable via the DIC. Could be you had a gremlin and it deselected the function:

Auto Lock
Press the OPTIONS button until AUTO LOCK appears
on the display, then use the RESET button to page
through the following choices:
AUTO LOCK ON
AUTO LOCK OFF
If you choose AUTO LOCK ON, both doors will
automatically lock when the vehicle exceeds 10 mph
(16 km/h) in a manual transmission. In a vehicle with
an automatic transmission, both doors will automatically
lock when you move the shift lever out of PARK (P).
Choose AUTO LOCK OFF to turn this option off.
Auto Unlock
The AUTO UNLOCK will be available only if
AUTO LOCK is set to ON as described previously.
Press the OPTIONS button until AUTO UNLOCK
appears on the display, then use the RESET button
to page through the following choices:
AUTO UNLOCK DRIVER
AUTO UNLOCK BOTH
AUTO UNLOCK OFF
If you choose AUTO UNLOCK DRIVER, the driver’s
door will automatically unlock when you turn the
vehicle off and pull the key out of the ignition.
Choose AUTO UNLOCK BOTH, and both doors will
automatically unlock when you turn the vehicle off and
pull the key out of the ignition.
AUTO UNLOCK OFF turns off this option

Thanks DG. I'm just gonna turn Auto Lock off so I don't have to worry about the art of pulling the key out correctly.

Does it still unlock when you use the buttons on the doors? If not, you have a bad relay in your door control module. If you are handy with a soldering iron, its a gravy easy fix...well documented here on the forums.

BTW, my driver side had the same problem. Still would not unlock after the module was rebuilt if you used the buttons, turned out my multi-button panel on the door was damaged. Fixed that too but it goes to show you NEED to diagnose what it is....I would not just turn it off and guess.

My .25 man, good luck.

Yeah it would lock and unlock with the button on the door and from the remote. I turned off the auto-lock today, so I'm much happier now.
