I finally got around to installing the rear hatch seal. The installation went smoothly, I lubricated the seal as suggested, but although after three days it has taken shape as described, the hatch won't open unless I push it open from the inside. (What a pain in the a**!!!) . I sent an email to the email address listed in the installation guide since there was no phone number listed. The email came back indicating the email address did not exist. Any suggestion?
There is a "popper" thing that is sold. Its a spring that gets bolted to the latch so when the hatch/trunk gets popped it opens right up. Do a search under trunk popper...I think.
I dont think the seal would have anything to do with opening. I have a Vert so I'm not familiar with the coupe hatch.
I'd check the latch mechanism and lubricate it. On mine if that sticks it prevents the hood from popping up. How are the struts. Do they still operate normally or could they be going soft?

The hatch worked perfectly prior to installing the hatch seal. Because of the compression of the seal with the hatch closed, the hatch is not able to overcome on its own the friction created by the continuous seal.
I have the same problem. The hatch works fine, but when you put the seal in, it fills the gap between the hatch and body, and it's tight enough so the hatch won't pop open. The seller suggested coating the seal with armor all, which I did. It makes it a little easier to push open from inside, but still doesn't allow it to pop open. Silicone spray didn't work either. I'm about to rip this thing out.

It's a bit of a nuisance, but what seems to work is to hit the hatch release button, which partially opens the hatch. Then, close one of the doors and hit the trunk release again. Works every time. The air pressure from closing one of the doors forces the hatch up, which beats crawling back there and pushing it open.
