Default C5 In Dash Navigation Units

I have an 2002 Corvette Z06 and my girl wanted to suprise me and get me an in-dash navigation unit. The problem is the unit she purchased is a double din unit (as most of them are) and the C5 is a 1.5 din... Does anyone know of a navigation unit that is a 1.5 din that would fit in my Z06 or maybe some different suggestions???

Isn't there a company that makes a double DIN console. Probably much cheaper to find a 1.5 Nav unit if possible.

There are several supporting vendors that make beautiful double din consoles to fit a double din unit. I am installing my kenwood 8120 this Sunday complete new speakers amp, subs sat radio, bluetooth, back up cam etc etc. Buy the double din console and be happy. The only reason why I didn't want the flip up screen models as I didn't want my vents obstructed when in use. Do a search on double din and you will find the vendors. Good luck.

I would do some research on here for a while. This comes up pretty regularly in C5 gen and in the audio electronics section. The short answer is that you will have to do the double din mod to your dash. I believe there are a FEW 1.5din units out there but not with nav and they arent all that great to begin with. If you dont want to mod the dash there are a few single din units out there that you can use. Off the top of my head the JVC comes to mind. Its the KDX-5000 or something like that. Its actually a pretty nice unit (I have its little brother without nav). For that you will have to use an adapter plate to fill the extra space, or like I did and use a half din center channel speaker.

Like I said, spend some time searching here for what others have done. There are lots of threads about it that should help you decide what route you want to go. Good luck, and post pics when its done.

Yeah Dennis sells the entire kit... double din bezel, Nav Radio (I got a Kenwwod 5120), custom mounting brackets for the radio, GM wire harness adapter, and GM antenna adapter- all for a very good price.

His Dbl Din bezels are top notch... gonna install mine in a couple weeks.

His buddy Greg, "Pentavolvo" on the forum, has recently posted an install thread with pics... he's real helpful if you have any questions.. he answered all of mine!

Good Luck..
