I purposely built my car so that I could drive it anytime/anywhere I want to. It truly is "The Gentleman's Cruiser". I use it to commute(35 miles each way in DC rush hour), take trips, pleasure cruises with Mrs. WKMCD and quick trips down country roads. I choose not to take it out bad weather simply because it's not much fun and everything goes up in wheelspin even driving it gently. Even though I've never had the nerve to take it over the posted speed limit.
mine was a daily driver for the 1st two years.
since I drive a 80mile round trip for school now, I drive my toyota because its more economical in the long run. I also avoid the random acts of kindness from the college kids
Being retired, and waiting over 40+years to own one.I use my '04 every chance I get,and I do not baby it.It is stock with a six speed, has 74000 miles and runs like a champ, had it dino tuned for the street.
I JUST LOVE TO DRIVE IT!!! That is what they were to do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve only had it a little over 7 months but will use it just like my last pleasure car. Mostly a weekend driver which will see autox’s and track days. If it happens to get rained on while out oh well. Guess it will have to be washed. Only time I hate it getting rained on is when the wheels are coated in brake dust after an event because it’s a real pain to get the dust off sometimes if you wait a few days.

I didn't wait until I was 45 years old to buy a Corvette in order to keep it in the garage. I drive it each and every chance I get, and love every minute of it. It is to be driven and enjoyed, by ME, period. Of course, living in SoCal where the weather is almost always great, helps to do that. I don't fault guys who live in the rust belt or who get a lot of snow that want to keep their cars cherry.
We keep ours a our New Jersey shore house .Gets tons of use on weekends and vacations But is not my DD Nothing like going topless in the ocean air Driving the vert isnt bad either
With four motorcycle and three vettes I have a hard time between March and November getting many miles on any one. I keep track and rotate as much as possible.
It's my only car so it must deal with whatever mother nature throws at it. The nice thing about a C5 as a DD is you never are left thinking "I wish I was driving the Vette."
BTW, just finished reading "All Corvettes Are Red." The C5 was put through absolute torture during its development. I am completely convinced my car was designed to handle far more punishment than I'll ever deliver...

I have 3 vehicles. Most of the time if I feel like it, which is almost everyday, I drive the Vette. If I don't feel like shifting or falling into the Vette or going fishing or hauling something I drive the Jeep. I don't choose what to drive based on the weather. And the Vette stays outside but under a cover. It's a car. I never have figured out the garage queen folks. Why spend the money on something you can't enjoy? Just owning a Vette is a little enjoyable but it doesn't compare to driving it the way it was meant to be driven.
