weekend warrior, sometimes weekday

I prefer sunny days, but if the weather turns bad I know my vette won't melt.

I would love to drive mine more but damn Navy has me all over the country these days! Can't wait to bring her out of hibernation in two weeks when I'm back on the East Coast!

Mine's not a DD, but I drive it most anytime it's nice outside, weekday/weekend, does not matter.

Now, for speed? When I get on a nice country road by myself, I'll use a phrase on "ECS" T-shirts:

"Flatout, until I see God, count to three, than brake!"

She stays home during the really nasty stuff(mainly snow)If it's going to be an all day rain,,may not take her out! She does get wet,,the wipers DO work.Much of the rain we get is the intermittent type,,and she will often go in that(I do carry some towels, micro fibers and a California blade,,but I am not fanatical about it) I'm retired now,,but I drive it almost every day,so much so that in 14 months that I've owned it I've put 16,000,,14k of that local driving,,as well as about 5 trips to the strip,YEEEEHAAA!!! I LOVE this car 13.08/110.23 quarter,,low 20s city(when I behave myself) and 30 on the highway and I got it for the price of a nice econobox!! Bought it to DRIVE IT!!!

As I posted above mine is a DD except ice/snow. I was suprised by this poll that most people don't drive them all of the time.

I'm a firm believer in "to each is own".

Personally for me, I have put a lot of time and money into this car (mods, tunes). When you couple that to the excitment I get when I drive it, there is no way I could leave it in the garage.

Besides, there's no tow hitch on a hearse. Can't take it with you.

I drive the Jeep. Don't choose what to drive based on weather. And the Vette stays outside but under a cover. It's a car. I never have figured out the garage queen folks. Why spend the money on something you can't enjoy? Just owning a Vette is a little enjoyable but it doesn't compare to driving it the way it was meant to be driven.

I drive my three Vettes (99 Vert, 99 Coupe, 07 C6Z) as often as possible, but ONLY in good weather...All of my rides are black, theyre hard enough to keep clean in good weather....I'll be damded if Im gonna drive 'em in $hitty weather just to impress someone...Having said that, there have been times that Ive actually taken a lawn chair out to my garage and just sat and admired 'em...So just because Im not driving them doesnt mean Im not enjoying them

There's times I've done the same thing, except with a good cigar, a good glass of Scotch, and some good music!!

My Vert was a daily driver in Vegas. With the great weather it always looked good and I got a buzz driving it every day even in the snarled up traffic

I brought it home to England and the climate is a tad different If I take it out in Winter it's covered in mud before I leave the village. Add to that my ride to work is a 50+ mile round trip and it just piles on the miles with gas at $5+ a gallon. Add to that I have limited insurance policy to keep the cost down (5000 miles a year).

So now it comes out when the weather is nice. I still get the buzz when I drive it and it stays reasonably clean most of the time. I just have to ration my enjoyment.

I've seen the pix of your stable. It's apparent that you do enjoy all you have. If you need help driving them just holler.

I guess I don't really fit into any of the 4 categories either. I drive it like I stole it on the weekends or when I am feeling good. And I'll DD it when I am tired of gas prices. Then I get tired of crawling in and out of it, and then I'll drive my truck for a few days 'til I start missing the car.

Tires seem to be slipping a lot easier than normal lately though and it doesn't seem as fun to drive cause I can't go as fast. So, it will probably see more garage time until I can get some decent tires on it.

On a side note, I don't care for mileage numbers. I take care of the motor the best I know how and if/when it starts going downhill, I'll go from there. I know the car wasn't an investment when I bought it. Mileage isn't going to stop me from driving it when or how I want to drive it.

I use mine as a DD. I never could understand the concept of having a car and not enjoying every aspect of it. Why would you have a corvette and never floor it? Or complain about, it's hard to get in and out of. Or maybe the acceleration is to abrupt. It would drive me nuts to have a Corvette sitting in the garage and not be able to drive it. I live in Florida so I am lucky enough to drive the car year round. I couldn't imagine not being able to drive the car in the winter...that would also drive me nuts.

If you lived in ontario, it would be a way of life...Atleast the snow LOOKS to be done with here ... Vette is out and enjoying the brief sun were getting.

Wish you lived closer...There are several shows a year that I would like to take all three of them to...believe it or not, I have an extremely hard time recruiting help getting them there, so I usually end up taking just one...

I could drive mine everyday if needed as I have Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires (A/S) but I like to save her for trips to town on sunny days or track days and use the Lexus IS350 as a DD. This gives me something to look foward to. Then we also have to find time for the Harley(s)...I just hate washing cars so if its raining we take the wifes Focus or the pick-up.

Default I drive mine...

Mainly on weekends, I have a daily driver hoopty which gives me about 30MPG combined. Since the 427 went in gas mileage is not the greatest around town (13-16 MPG city).

Drove it in the St Pats parade on Saturday in Columbia SC. I'm not afraid of water. Believe it or not, these bodies will not rust if they get wet
