Before it's to late and you start yanking out motors, etc. Put the key in turn to acc or ign, reconnect the left door/window/seat/memory switch (that came out of the door panel), then put your ear right on the LDCM - that black box with several wires and plugs going into it.

Now push up or down on whatever isn't working (presume the window??)..

You said you heard a "click". Now, listen carefully for that same click sound. If you hear a noise from that box, it is a relay inside and not the motor.

I can't say I have ever heard an electric motor "click" unless it has a capacitor starter on it, which these little 12v motors don't have. They either work or they dont. Also, a motor going out would surely provide some other clues prior to just 'quitting'. You could also expect to smell something not right or if you open and close the door hard or tap on the motor with a mallet and it runs, those are signs of an electric motor going out or gone.

Be cautious if you go after the window tracks cause if you screw that up and all those cables come springing off, you will have a much bigger problem than trying to get a door panel off.

If you need a Left Door Control Module - PM me.. I've got a bead on one....

I also don't know how to disconnect the wires.. they feel pretty firm and I'm not seeing release tabs. So confused!!! :o

Nevermind, I got the speakers off.
Here are some photos of one of my doors taken apart to install Dynamat & Ensolite - but you can see the openings you are referring to...

Hm, I think I'm going to do the replace relay thing. I don't know how to solder circuit boards/relay and I don't want to try. I'm not sure what's a good place to take it to though. Since the relay is like $1.50 and soldering it shouldn't be that much, it sounds like the logical step.

If that fails, then it has to be the motor (from what I understand). I do know the "clicking sound" comes from the black box (with the relay in it). I just didn't really understand the tech thread about the diagnosis.

By the way, I'm having problems with the passenger side door window. Also, I JUST got the car like 2 weeks ago so I really have no idea when it failed. The car hasn't been driven much though.

just wanted to throw this in regarding door panel removal, i have taken panels off of maybe 50 different c5's to do stereos, some panels on cars never removed before some on cars that have had panels removed a number of times.

after the 1st time it will be way easier to remove.

I have never once used a pry/door panel tool

I always sit on the ground foot on bottom of door panel and put my hand in the reflector hole and give it a few good hard tugs, i have prly broken maybe 5 pins in 50 cars
