Default tire size question

Will a 265/40/18 tire fit fine, on a rim for a 99 vette on the back?
I know stock is 275/40/18
but got a better deal on this size

Thanks!

You won't run into any traction control issues with this size, assuming that you are running the stock 245-45x17 in front. The tire will fit the 9.5" rim okay.

Running a size smaller than stock to me is a questionable practice, but in answer to your question - yes it will work.

It might not look very good, as it is skinnier than even the 275s by 10mm. Usually its a front tire, i know that s what i have as a front on some of mine.(18" wheels tho, not 17") Im sure it ll "work" tho, as long as u use a smaller tire on front, like mentioned above.
