broken fender tab
need some tips on fixing this. the car came off a ramp and punched the bottom of the pass side front fender. fender mounting tab underneath is broken off
what's the best way to fix this. I'm thinking I'll need to take the fender off to re epoxy the tab back on and get the fender back in alignment, but I want to make sure I use the right materials. paint on the car is still good so I don't want to replace the fender
thanks!

fender tab
I have the same issue on my driver's side fender. I picked up two bumper repair kits (Bondo brand), adhesion promoter (Bull Dog) at a Pep Boys. I already have primer and paint as I do my own paint work. The repair kit comes with a two-part compound and some reinforcing mesh.
With the fender off, protect the underside with several layers of blue painter's tape ~ 3/4" way from the damaged edge. Clean and sand the area with 60 or 80 grit. Really sand the inside well as that's where you'll have the mesh make solid contact. If you have the part that broke off, you can apply the mesh and putty on both sides of the tab. If not, you have to build up enough thickness for the missing material.
After it's all done, sand, drill and use the adhesion promoter, primer & Duplicolor touch up. Not real critical since the repair won't be visible.
Although it's simple, it's a good weekend job. Good Luck.

Fender
Removing that fender is a bit of work. I've done it, and I have a similar issue on the driver's side now from a parking lot curb a couple years ago.
I only plan to fix it if the fender is coming off for some other reason. Otherwise, I can live with it.

thanks for the tips. might take the plunge and remove the fender as it does stick out just a little bit. I'll try the large wash trick first as that would be easy!
