Sometimes, on my '01 vert, my turn indicator won't work. when it doesn't, I found that by turning on the emergency flashers for just a moment will enable the turn indicator to function normally. All bulbs are good and as I said, the turn indicator works properly about 90% of the time. Joe
The flasher switch is known to go bad - you can either replace it or install a bypass kit - I am sure someone will post the vendor link forr the bypass kit, and there are posts on changing out the switch
The flasher switch is most likely the problem. I was given a new stalk when I bought the car, replaced the stalk switch at cost of $300 in labor at the dealer. No help, learned where to smack the dash. While hitting it was satisfying, it was not consistent. I did this mod last year. It really works. IF you do need a complete stalk, I have a good used one will sell for $100 shipped.
my hazzard flasher wasn't causing any problems, I installed this harness when I replaced my DRLs with switchback LEDs. it's a very simple installation, especially compared to replacing the hazzard switch.
