I too agree with BlackSedan87. We're all individuals and we can do as we wish. What looks good in our eyes may not agree with everyone else but oh well....it ours and we can make it whatever we wish.

With a guys right to what he wants with his ride. However when a guys does something asinine we have not only the right but the obligation to call him on it.
I don't understand why someone else personalizing their car would bother anyone. If someone wants to place a sticker or a decal, on their car - why would I care or let it bother me?
Last time I checked - we still have the freedom to express ourselves in any manner we see fit - as long as it doesn't harm someone else.
I see a lot of things that people do to their cars that I don't agree with - or would do myself. Since when do any of us have to conform to someone elses idea of what is good taste?
If I chose to paint my car neon green and put pink polka dots on it - if that's what makes me happy and it isn't bringing harm to anyone else, why would any of you care? I didn't ask for money or opinions, and I will do what I want.
I think that it seems that if more than one person modifies their car in some manner that is popular at the moment, it gives validation to the rest who feel compelled to jump on the band wagon. If for example, you buy the same wheels I have - then you've validated my choice....and I guess to some that's important.
Dare to be different.....
YES Dare to be Different!!!!But expressing it on a corvette?????
Let's face it most of us are successful middle aged men who never
took a dare to be different approach in our lives. The biggest
dare was buying a corvette. I wonder how many here on the
Forum are true individualist and how many just conform.

True individualism is a hard quality to quantify. I stand by my original position on this - maybe I'll rephrase....Dare to not conform.
The most popular wheels on this forum have to be CCW 505's. A close second would be the C6 Z06 wheels.....this is what I mean by conforming.
If the original poster of the thread about windshield decals wants to put the decal on the car - and does it anyway without the majority approval of C5 Gen....that's non-conforming, and that's what I am applauding. Do it because it appeals to you, regardless of what anyone or everyone thinks and says.
The flaw in the thinking that this or that looks cheesy or unacceptable is that if 100 or so members put curb feelers on their C5 - then the majority would rush out and do the same, because they want to conform, regardless of how cheesy and ridiculous it looks.

But by the same logic we should be equally applauded for standing up a saying it looks like S**T!
Or should we all conform and be PC by telling the dude it's your car do what you want BS.

Well I am surprised that no one has picked up the ball and
agreed to join the hypothical Z-51 Club that our C-6 brother's
have fawned over. Maybe there is hope.

I was just over there for the 1st time what a crack up. Z51 badges like ZO6 badges. Can you say Poser?
Told them we C5ers are looking into HUD badges.
Holy cow just because you say you think they are a bunch of morons they go off on you.
They didn't think it was funny.

I was the second one on this forum to buy a set of 505A's and never dreamed they'd become so popular. I'm sure all the pics I've posted over the years since have helped push a few sets out the door. I'm at the point where, despite how much I love them, I'm tempted to trade them on something much rarer but then I realize the C5 is not exactly a rarity itself.

C'est la vie. And, to each, his own.
Keep um.
You may see them on the Forum but you almost never see them on the road. An even at the biggest shows still very few.

Indeed! I think along these lines frequently. On the Forum lots of wheels are "common" so to speak....but on the road and at gatherings, you seldom see CCW's. In my mind there are no better looking wheels to be had.
