111,000 and doing great as well, I think they're rated at 200,000 and will probably really last to 300,000....

Look here for model information.

I think a coupe with an A4 can be found in your price range that is in good condition. Just take your time.

Don't just limit yoour search to the forum. Look at craigslist, auottrader, etc.

Good luck. Hope you find a great car!
Man, what a ton of information! Thanks for digging those up for me Independent1!

BTW, I see you're in No. VA. I'm in the MD/DC area. If you know of anyone in the area with a nice C5 in my price range, please point them my way. I'm especially interested in an electron blue coupe.

Thanks again!

I'd take a C4... but, not over my C5.

Default C4/c5

I've got both-Each has their special traits. I'm sure you'll fall in love with either one when you buy it. The clam shell hood/cockpit feel are the things that keep C4 guys loving c4's- A C5 is like a friend with benefits-Try both before making up your mind-A lot of Corvette guys take special care of their cars-There's one out there with your name on it!:

Spend the extra and buy a C6! The C5's are outdated and if you can haggle you may come across one! This may tick a few off but a much better car!

The C5 and C6 are pretty much the same car. Just a different body covering the same hydroformed structure and transaxle design with slight variations. The C6 is really a C5.5 that has a few more gadgets and a slightly more powerful versions of the LS smallblock V8 unless you get the LS7 or LS9, then a lot more powerful version. Depends which body style you prefer. I have driven regular C6's and the only differeces that I noticed were in how the clutch grabbed.

Yes the prices are close now, especially the '05's. I would recommend him getting an '06 or newer C6, however he never mentioned a C6. Besides his price range is $15-$20K max.

I have owned 3 c4's and enjoyed each one. I just sold the last two and bought a 02 vert.....what a difference. I think if you drive each generation you will see and feel the difference immediately. I can only say that permasmile has set in and I could not be happier with my 02....good luck in your search.....by the way, I bought mine at Koons Chevrolet of Tysons.

^^Electron Blue is a nice color. Did not start until 2002. In 2001, it was Navy Blue. That is a very nice color also. My brother owns one. My favorite blue though is Nassau Blue Metallic. I believe it was available from 98 though 2000.

C4 vs. C5 Well all I can tell you is that they are 2 very different cars. My 96 vert is a auto with 45,000 miles and I love it. It is totally stock and I love taking it to car shows. I plan to keep it stock and it only comes out in nice weather.

My 00 vert is a 6 speed with 75,000 miles and I love it. When I want to play I drive the 6 speed. Both the 96 and 00 vert are not DD's and only used on weekends in good weather. My 00 vert just had a set of LG Long Tube Street Series headers with high flow cats and X-Pipe added and I love it. My plan for the 00 vert is CAI heads and cam, its a play toy.

Like I said I love them both adn very much enjoy driving them when I have the time.

So I think it boilsdow to your personal perfrence and what you are looking for out of the car.

Good luck.
