Default Fuel Door issue

I had my rear interior out to adjust the soundproofing and saw the fuel release cord. I knew it was there but never needed to use it as the door switch works fine. BUT I pulled it just to see if it worked. It did work but now the door doesn't stay closed and the electric switch doesn't always open it.

From what I can tell the locking pin is binding some and not letting the spring loaded latch move freely.

Anyone had this happen? What to do?

Try lubricating the locking pin with some silicon spray or penetrant. Worked fine for me.

One drop of heavy oil and working the pin did the job. Thanks!
