Default DTE - Do they even care????

Back in November of 2008 I was doing a little pre-planning for winter mods that I wanted to get done this winter. With a new built A4 trans and 2500 stall convertor sitting here in the barn I thought it would be good time to install one of DTE's differential struts.

Well, I ordered the strut from Chris @ ECS back in November and still HAVE NOT received it

Don't get me wrong here, Chris has been very helpful in trying to get this order filled for me and has kept me informed every step of the way It seems the only answer DTE can come up with is "we'll have it to you in 2 weeks"

It's going on 6 months now and I think DTE has used the 2 week excuse enough - maybe they should just change it to 2 years and get it over with

Fellow forum members please BEWARE of DTE

Hi Gary, I cant even begin to tell you how sorry I am over the time frame on you getting the brace. I placed the order on 11/14 the day you paid for it. I dont have an excuse as to why its taking so long. It just so happens that I spoke to Jenny today and she said it would be 2 weeks longer. If you dont have the brace by then I will not only credit you back the cost of the brace opbviously but give you 10% off any thing you order in the future from ECS. In the end its our responsibility to get you the brace since you ordered it through us. From past experience the DTE braces are usually a few weeks for delivery, not over 4 months

Someone let us know if this thread, so we're chiming in to clarify a few mis-understandings.

First and foremost~
We have no one's "money", so that mis-understanding by some of you is now put to rest.

Secondly~
We typically produce one mixed production run of approx. 125 kits of our popular differential struts per yearly quarter, with two small runs being completed in January 2009 that filled orders for our authorized National and International dealer network which carries DTE Powertrain Products. That information was posted on the Homepage of our website for all to see at that time, so our end-user customers and dealers knew the status of production, product shipment dates, etc.; just so there is no confusion for anyone. If a person calls here to purchase a kit from a recent production run that was sold out to our product dealers, we direct their business toward a product stocking distributor to fill their order.

Thirdly~
No one should have had to wait 6 months for any of our differential strut kits, because we've produced 3 small production runs since 11/2008 where our authorized *stocking* dealers have had them on their shelves. ECS hasn't been a DE Product Dealer since last fall due our negative experiences in dealing with them over the last several months behind the scenes- most of which you other folks' have witnessed here online to some extent. They should have informed their waiting customer of this to keep him informed, so he could have purchased the kit from us directly or from another stocking dealer that actually carries the popular parts on their shelves. Unfortunately, they obviously didn't communicate this to him.

Lastly~
The next production run for the 2nd quarter of 2009 will commence when get fully moved into our new, larger facility we just purchased 3 1/2 weeks ago, that will enable the expansion of our manufacturing capacity, warehouse space and product engineering expertise.

By the way~ Our C5 differential strut prices of $349 have been in place for over 1 3/4 years now and we have no desire to engage in unproductive, silly, online arguments. Therefore, we won't.

Thank you and have a nice weekend gents.
