The stock radio is an odd size (1.5 din). You can install a single din with a kit to fill the void or you can get a new radio bezel with a larger opening for a double din touch screen head unit.

You can contact Denis at Double D Mods for kits and advice.
Ok good to know there is a harness that works without modding the wires. I do want to go with a DD style unit. I will have Dennis mod my stock bezel, and will discuss my plans with him. Im probably going to do this next winter just getting some ideas together right now.

The head unit, interface and bezel are the biggest expense. Adding speakers afterwards isn't all that expensive and will make the system sound clearer.

Might I suggest to anyone postponing doing the double din mod due to modding the console issues. I purchased a stock console on e-bay and sent Dennis the console out of my car. Once it was returned and the new head unit was installed, I sold the temporary unit back on e-bay and recovered my investment without having to lay up my car. Plus, I have to say that having a modern radio with all the new tech features is absolutely worth the investment. Especially having handsfree bluetooth, nav, and the back-up camera. Front camera will have to be done soon, I am the worst procrastinator.

I also have an amp, separates for up front, RF for the rear, and a sub for the well. Do I need some sort of harness? Unfortunately after I bought all this stuff, I got cancer. Fast forward 3 years, I'm fine and want to finish my project. I have to install everything but the head unit. I ran rca cables to where the amp will be, and assume I will pull speaker wire to the others. Do I just disconnect the Bose fuse and does the amp come out with the speaker?

Just a heads up an option
Bill aka ET

AS far as the boot up screen I designed that myself in Photoshop turned it into a bit map, and uploaded it to the Head unit.. I made a couple different ones.

Sir, these look amazing. Great job!
