Buddy of mine just bought a low mileage 2004 Z06. He got the car home and said it has "RM" air intake on it. Not sure if it is a true CAI and/or if it is any good. Anyone have some insight? He is going to do very light mods and if the RM is good, he will not get a better one.
Without going to N02 and other than a tune, what mods will bring the most bang for the buck for him? I know what to do to a C6 but not sure about the C5 Z06.
To maximize the effect of the nitrous, the car got RM's own Twin Flow air intake and a B&B stainless steel exhaust, which RM says add 14 and 8 rear-wheel horsepower, respectively.
The scary part is this:
The star of RM's $10,000 package is a microprocessor-controlled nitrous oxide kit, which RM says boosts horsepower by 125.
Hopefully the previous owner did everything right if he was running nitrous.
I haven't seen the car yet. He may be bringing it over tomorrow night. If so, pics to follow. If someone was spraying this Z06, no one over here will be laughing, with or without the gas. Thanks for the info. I'll update as soon as I know.
I had one when I first bought my car. It was a twin cone set-up and decent. I removed it as my tuner claimed it caused air turbulence when I had intake and exhaust mods done. Don't know if that was true but I ended up with 50+ hp after they worked on my car...
