I'm going to go to Sears after work/tonight to get myself some Torx drivers for the socket set and really to get the bolts for the rear-differential on and off, and while I'm there, I want to get some jack stands. Which would be the best ones? Does it matter at all or should I just get the ones with the highest capacity, within reason of course.
I have to see if the current floor jack I have will even slide under the car so if I need to buy a new jack, I will.
I had stopped by Sears Monday night and they had the, I think it was the 3 ton jacks, they were yellow and black, for $40.
I looked online at Harbor Freight as there is one about 50 miles from my house as I really need a floor jack too. I had seen they have a set of 12 ton jack stands for $80 and a 4000 lb aluminum racing jack for about $150, low height/3 1/2" and a short throw/6 pumps till topped out, so I might go and get all that. I'm still shopping but did see in a search that many have the Sears stuff so I considered it first.

I can't remember where, but I bought 4, 3-ton, jack stands for $35. and have been all under my car with them. No problem. I think when it comes to jack stands, name brand or most expensive shouldn't even play a part in selection. That's exactly where I bought mine, "Harbor Freight," almost 2 years ago.

Harbor Freight has good ones cheap!! I just picked up their 2 ton racing jack also (lowers to 3 1/2 inches and only weighs about 45 #) All work good!
