I was out for a cruise this past weekend and I figured since I had close to a thousand miles on it, it was time to see what the car can do. So in first gear with the clutch all the way out I did not stomp on the gas, but gave it a healthy amount and the rear end just picked right up and started spinning on me. So at the next stop light I took off in second gear and it did the same thing, but not as bad. I was wondering if anyone else out there who has experienced this same problem or if anyone had any suggestions. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Mine's the same way .. even from a roll in 1st or 2nd, a good punch will spin the tires like crazy. I don't see the problem, though ... that's why I bought the car. The only skill required to go fast in these cars is in getting them to hook up.
You are right the only skill needed is to get it to hook up. The only problem I saw was having to buy new tires too early. But I say to myself forget it and just enjoy the car.
With the '01 shocks, I had wheel hop at the drag strip.
So I installed the '02 shocks because the ride is a little smoother and also on the chance that the revalving might quell the wheel hop.
I havent taken her out to the track with the '02 shocks yet... I hear Moroso is opening back in February, but on the street I havent had any wheel hop but I have found myself spinning the tires a lot. But with this much power, spinning is not going to be unusual.
I can't wait to try her out on the strip.

Keep in mind that cooler weather severely affects your grip. I live in northern Fla but I noticed a profound difference in traction once the weather cooled off.
Even after my tires hook up in second, if I let it go WOT towards redline the rear end starts getting squirrely above 4500-5000 rpm when the engine starts to develop max torque. Third gear is not so bad on the straight, but even cornering WOT in 3rd requires some caution.
