I have researched and read all the posts on the window issues... I know it has been beat to death and understand the issues.
For the last year my passenger window has stopped working at times - then I hit a hard bump and it works again... Well it is out now and something has to be done.
How do I determine if it is the window regulator (motor) or the control module in the door...?
Can I pull the module from the drivers door and swap them to check?
Thanks in advance

I JUST fixed my window problem last night. I suspect it was because it hasn't been used for so long, and the motor was "stuck".
The way I see it is, if your motor is drawing power (in my case, it even drained my battery dead), and if you keep doing it, it even gets warm, then your motor should be functional. Somehow, banging on the motor didn't work, but the screwdriver tapping on the screw worked right away.
I could be wrong, hopefully some expert can come and explain better. Good luck!

What "screw" are you talking about...? I am guessing the winter with the window being up caused it.. I tried to roll it down every week but forgot for a while.
When I push the down window button, I hear a "click" but nothing happens. I am guessing that is the relay in the module kicking in and the window motor is stuck. I would like to determine that before buying a motor though... Looking for some addition advise and direction.

Another forum member said that he runs his window all the way up and then bumps it down a fraction of an inch by quickly hitting the buttons to take the load off the motor. Claims he has never had a problem with his windows not working.
Makes sense that if the window is driven all the way up against the stops, the drive stays in a bind and would be more likely to stick.
I found that with the auto down feature, it is hard to hit the down button fast enough not to drop the window too much, but you can put a finger on both buttons (up and down) and hit them quick enough that the drive unloads but the window only moves down 1/16 inch or so. Worth a try...
Over the last couple years I have also had this problem and usually only had to smack the door. It stuck again about six weeks ago and smacking didn't help. So yesterday after reading every post on this issue I tried the screw driver method. Did not work, I thought. An hour later I went to remove the door panel to strike the motor, but as I was backing out of the garage I hit the control and down it went.
Now I have a smaller problem.
When I removed the small cover on the door just down and back of the hand grip two of the little tabs were already broke off and I broke another. Where is the best place to find a replacement?

I think those tabs crack even if the cover has never been off. I reinforced all my tabs with epoxy and they are still holding.
You can order replacements through a dealer (of course), or you can also get them through aftermarket specialists, like Ecklers Corvettes.
Might actually be cheaper at a dealer.
You might try bumping the window down a fraction of an inch so that the motor is not in a bind against the stops. One forum member says he does that and his windows have never stuck. Makes sense, but not sure that will cure the problem for everyone.
