I've got about 8000 miles on my 555r2's in the front and they still look like they have at least another 4 or 5000 miles left. My Nitto drags have the same mileage on them but are pretty much wiped out. They are great tires though!
Mine look like they might last 10 or 12 thousand miles. This is kind of funny. Most people would not believe that we are happily talking about tires that wear so quickly. If you put a lot of miles on your Z these tires could get to be a pain replacing them every 6 or 8 months. If you want the ultimate in dry traction performance and do not drive too many miles per year this tire is a GREAT choice.
Yes but at under 1000 for the entire set and they blow away anything else out there, it doesn't make sense to go with anything else even if they do wear quickly. Most people don't daily drive their vettes. I have plenty left and had them on all last summer including lots of driving, 8 drag runs, and a road track day.
So, it really depends if you race or just drive street. I love the look it gives to the Vette's. I'd be driving the street with these, so I think I'd be happy with atleast 10K.
I have been seriously considering these tires as well and have been told that if you order them (at least the rears) heat cycled that they wear much more evenly and will last quite a bit longer. A friend of mine has owned several sets of these with and with out heat cycled and he swears it makes a very noticeable difference in every aspect.
I absolutely love mine. My car is driven regularly, but isn't my daily driver so to be honest I will probably have to replace the tires because of age in 3 years or so before I have actually managed to wear them out. Unless I can start getting to the track then that would change.
I have gotten 13,000 out of mine. I love them and waiting on delivery of second set. They grip great and I have had no clutch issues *** of yet. Of course since I said that my clutch will fail today or tomorrow.
I have set to mount up as soon as it quits snowing and stays above 32*, but it looks like we got more on the way in the next couple of days. Can't wait to get them on.
Order from discount tire and find someone to install them or find a local shop that carries them. Most people will price match nowadays. I got mine from the local discount tire for 1K installed. There has got to be a shop around Bloomington that carries them.
