I used to have USAA for almost 10 years and no one could beat their prices for the longest time. I just switched to Farm Bureau because they shaved off 200 bucks a year on my policy which is a homeowners my Z and a 08 Titan. Check em out.
$520/year with no tickets, no accidents. And mulptiple years of insuring sports cars with the same company (USAA). No claims in over 20 years so these guys know I'm low risk. (Squeaky clean)
Yes it sucks to be under 25 with a high performance car. 20plus years ago when I bought my first sports car I paid $1500 per year, so it's not you personally but you're paying for the youthful indescretions of others.
Next time you think about dropping the hammer on the highway just think about continuing to pay what you're paying for another 20 plus years. Take it to the track!
$1050 a year here in NJ with Geico. I have a bad history but I have not received a ticket in over 2 years and counting. I currently have 3 points on my license, no accidents. I am going to be 26 in a week!
State Farm here... $600/6 months (I only drive it 8 monts out of the year). The "withdrawn from use" price is around $240/6. I'm 24 with a squeaky clean record, DD class, multi car discount (08 Sierra costs me 550/6 mo, and the bike is 300/yr).
Provided I can continue to behave until November, I'd like to see what happens to my rates.
A rate without the coverage limits is almost worthless...
I have high liability limits (250/500/100) and high deductibles (100/1250), so my annual rate is $646 per year with Farmers.
This rate also includes multi-car discount and home owners discount.
$624 a year with American Family on pleasure insurance $500 deductible and I’m 25 just about ready to turn 26. Perfect record. No tickets or accidents. Waiting till August when payment comes due again to see if it goes down since my Civic premium went down last month.
$1200 a year through Mercury... clean record, 26 yrs old. '03 Z06 w/ 50,000 mi.
The above is not a bad rate. Not a world beater though - I've written 'em much lower. First of all I do business in Texas only and other States have different rates and regs. There are a number of factors that influence individual rates: Age of driver, driving record, address (if you live in Podunk Junction with little traffic your rates are going to be lower), credit score - yes, this makes a big difference at least in Texas - the better your credit score, the lower your premium.
I write for approx. 12 major companies and there is a big difference. Today's winner will most likely be a loser in a few years. Go Independent so that you have a choice. Farmers, State Farm, etc are known in the industry as "Captive Agents" meaning they have only one product to sell - take it or leave it. I can usually beat up on these guys pretty bad but I've got to get one thing off my chest! What the H%$# did State Farm inject you guys with when they signed you up? You guys have blinders on in my experience - Wake up - there's a whole world outside of State Farm! That should get me sued!
Find a GOOD Independent Agent and stay with him & have him shop your coverage every 2 - 4 years - especially if you notice a substantial increase in rates at renewal with no reason other than the greed factor that ALL companies have.
Missouri, 29, clean driving record, 0 accidents in 14 years, $250 deductibles and increased liability coverage. ~$2000 through Allstate.
I shopped around recently and found I could save a few hundred with other carriers. I'm on the fence as to whether to switch and "start over" with a new company. I'm under the belief, that I'll have more leverage with a company that I've been a customer of since I was able to drive. Dunno if that belief is based on facts though.
