I have Z06 size wheels on my coupe. I need new tires. The ones I want do not come in 265/40. I can get them in 255/40. So by running 255/40 and 295/35 would this cause any problems with the abs or traction control? By the way if anyone is interested the tires are General Exclaim UHPs
^^ To answer the OP question it is all about tire diameter. Make sure the front tire diameter is lower by about 1/2 inch than the rears.
Make sure your rim is the proper width for a 255. You should be able to find information on the range of proper rim sizes for a tire from the tire charts provided.

Hope that helps.
my rims are 9.5 and 10.5 (Z06 size). From the tire chart I printed off of their web site the 295s are 26 in dia. While the 255s and the 275s are 25 in. dia.
But stranger than that is, according to their charts the 285/35s have a section width of 11.4 while the 295/35s. are 10.6 Does this make sence to anyone?

No....the first number of the tires size is the section width in millimeters......255 = 255mm and 295 = 295mm.....there is no debate about this what so ever. I'd contact general.....it must be a typo....or something else is fubar with their tires....or application chart.
If I were you I'd go with 275's in the front and the 295's in the rear.....should work no sweat.....and I'm sure others here are running that exact setup with the UHP's...
