era. read all the post about the cbl if it hasnt been done already can

If the vette doesn't have the CLB installed, it can be at no cost from the local dealer. But chances are it will have it.
I have an 01 and use it as my daily driver, over 110,000 on it and STILL loving it. There are minor issues, like the CLB over the years, but nothing major.
I don't believe a dealer will install a CLB. They put in something else for the recall... something that does not disable column lock motor. It simply re-programs PCM to guarantee fuel shuts off above 2 mph so you can't drive w/steering column locked. Column lock failure can still occur at any time & leave you stranded! Just get a CLB & follow directions...it's not a big job. They are about $50.00
As for other things to look out for, go to the "Sticky" at the top of the Forum's first page: "Weights, Measurements, ratios, Strengths, etc." Tons of info...don't let it scare you. No C5 has all those problems listed! Just things to keep an eye open for. Overall, reliable has been my experience w/my 99 coupe. I'm sure others will chime in. Good luck!

We'll be glad to have ya..... You're gonna love the C5 as most of the small problems have already been addressed by previous owners....This forum will help should anything pop up anyway, the C6 is just a little quieter, just a little faster but those issues can be rectified here... Welcome
Welcome. This forum is a great place. Any one of these guys and gals will lend a helping hand. I, personally, have resolved a couple of issues just from info I have gotten off of this forum. Purchase and enjoy. A vette is more than a car. It is a lifestyle that introduces you to an extended family. Good luck.
Bought my 04 Vert as a retirement gift to myself. Been trouble free. Do my own maintaince and loving every day of it.
Its a buyers market. Do your research here and look for what you want. You'll love it.
