Default window molding

I have 2 leaking windows on my frc. I believe it is the molding because it is seperating from the car a bit and that seems to be a common problem with these cars. I have read a few threads on how to fix the problem. I am concerned that when I remove the plastic molding that I may break it. (it looks like the previous owner may have tried to fix this before) Does anyone know where I can get these two pieces of plastic molding either new or used?

Thanks for the help

I have dealt with this same problem a few times. You just need to take them off and use some sort of silicone with adhesive to seal it. I wouldnt worry too much about breaking them, but if you do, I am sure you could get them from a dealer with no problems.

Checked on the new Part numbers for the moldings. Currently no stock and on National Back Order.

On most cars I have seen, the molding sticks up from the roof a little so that it forms a channel for the water. I am not sure that is proof that it is leaking. I cannot see any sealer under the edge of mine, so if it is sealed it must be beneath the edge of the roof.

Mine does stick out more in the rear of the molding on one side, but I think that is the way it was assembled.
You might want to be careful about how tight you fit the molding to the roof or you may end up causing the other common problem of the molding cracking at the front.
I even noticed on mine that they did not fit the tab on the vertical piece behind the tab on the horizontal molding like they should have, but I don't think I am going to try to mess with it since it is not leaking.

Ok I am just going to try to do it and take my time so that I do not break it. I heard that this was not a fun job so I am not looking forward to doing it.

Thanks for the help

I am finally done with this project I spent 3 or 4 hours yesterday night and then another 3 or 4 hours today. It took awhile because my molding was off before and I had to spend a lot of time cleaning up what was done before. I think that it will keep the rain out but I am not 100% positive. I have a question for anyone who has had this area apart before. The two metal pieces that the weatherstripping sits in do the line up perfectly on your car? mine had a bit of a gap and I am not sure why It looked to me like that should be together.
