Default Next Mod?

Just wondering what my next mod should be on my Vette. I currently have a Vararam, MAF, smooth air coupler, x-pipe, and stingers.

If headers are next, what is the difference and benifits to long tube headers, short tube headers, and ceramic coated headers?

If headers are recommended, do I need a tune?

So, what's your goal? Headers, gears (if applicable), nitrous, FI, HC package; the possibilities are limitless.

LT headers would be next, then gears and a torque converter if you have an auto. I would definitely get a tune. After that it would depend on if you wanted to do a H/C package or go FI.

Goto the C5 parts and look for used LT Headers and install them yourself and you may be able to stay in your budget, but you will need a tune after the install as the 02s will through a code

Not sure about doing the install yourself though

After my intake, I bought a used set of very low mileage LG pro's with cats here on the forum and installed the Ti Z06 exhaust along with a tune by ECS, really perked up the car. No point in going with shorty headers I hear, so go with some LT's!

For a $1000 you could get some headers and a tune if you put the headers on yourself. Good luck you will love the results.

Longtube headers. LG Pros FTW !!! I think you can buy just the headers, but don't quote me. I say that because I see you already have the X pipe.

LT headers would be a good next mod. You may want a tune too.

What is the difference between LT's and shorty's? It seems like everyone says to go with the LT's. So why even make shorty's?

Thanks for starting this thread. You and i are almost neck and neck. I just installed the exact same setup in my car. I also did the throttle body flow control and short headers. I hear that LT's are better but I got scared away from the emissions test here in NY. some say they are illegal and some say aren't. I was going to get a dyno tune next month after I finished my interior make over. Later on the super charger is next for me.
