Well i tried doing a search, but it doesnt seem to bring back any relevant information anymore.
So today out of the blue my keyless entry stopped working on my 00 FRC. I tried my spare remote and replaced the battery without any luck. Are there any known problem area's i should check to get these doors back to lockin/unlockin??
Mine did the same thing while up on the lift for the winter. Thought the battery was dead but for the fun of it I checked the owners manual (who does that!?!). Hold the lock and unlock buttons for 7+ seconds and poof, it works again! Read the section on reprograming the keyless entry and that will probably do it.
The way the system works is the fobs communicate via RF to the remote control door lock receiver (sometimes called the RFA) which then sends a command to the BCM to unlock the doors. The RFA is also used by the tire pressure system. If the TPS is working normally you can discount the RCDLR as the problem.
That would mean your issue is with the fobs. Have both failed? If so it probably needs reprogramming. If only one has failed, it's probably a battery issue with that fob.
All that said, as Slotcar has suggested, a reprogram is easy and you should try that anyway. Eventually these fobs just wear out and you can pick them up reasonably cheaply from the Forum parts vendors or on E Bay.
If, after fussing with your fob, you still don't get it to work you may have the famous loose ground wire in the driver's door wire connection at the hinge rubber boot.
Good info guys... Thanks for the response. I'll have to check it out after work.
The backup remote i have is brand new, never used... So i doubt the fob is bad. Another thing is the alarm/trunk pop do not work either... So it really points to something on the car being the culprit i think...
TPS are working normally as well...

If you have not used your backup FOB for a while, I would stand next to the car and hold both the lock and unlock buttons for several seconds - if the horn beeps it is working - this is also proof that the entire system is working. That would narrow your problem down to the original FOB

You guys were right. After syncing the remote, all worked well again for about a day before the FOB lost sync again. My spare (brand new remote) doesnt even work at all and will not sync.
So i'm pretty much having to sync the remote about every other time i use it. Does this sound like the FOB's going bad ( with the internal connections mentioned above) or the ground wire in the door?
Intermitting FOB problem I am going to order the reciver p/n 10422621 thats located behide the drivers side rear fender. Been having issuse all summer an tire pressure after a day dispays nothing untill i start driving.
Mine is a 2000 hard top but this is the part number on the modual I just pulled out even though most info I can find is 1997 1998 I know the 2000 BCD is just for that year only not so sure on the keyless reciver
