Why do my headlights open when parking lights are on?
When I turn my parking lamps on, my headlight doors open with the lights off. I have a gear that needs to be replaced on one of the headlights (hidious grinding noise when you close the headlights) and was wondering would this cause the doors to open when you turn the switch to the parking lights? I know I have seen something on this before but the search function seems to be out of service, so I will just ask. Please help.

That would cause that problem. Once you fit new brass gears in the offending headlight motor it should be back to normal
