Is there a big difference in volume between the Stingers and their Standard series?
I saw and heard a stock C5 today and happened to ask the owner about it. He mentioned only that they were Borla Quad Round Tips. After doing some research I see there is two quad styles and now don't know which it was.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
The “S-Type” is a smaller, round muffler with a center-in/center-out configuration giving a more aggressive sound and higher flow. For those who prefer it on the milder side, we have the “Touring” muffler -- a larger case producing less aggressive sound.
That's from the Borla website. I wasn't aware that the two types were available. I guess I have the "S-Type" which is known as the Stinger. As time goes along, they get louder because the "packing" inside will disintegrate over time. Mine have been on since 2001, love the sound!!
The more research I do, it appears that the Stinger/Standard options may be for the C6 and not the C5. I was a bit confused by some pics I've seen of Borlas (supposedly) where for the C5 the quad tips were spread evenly across vs some that were 2 on the left and 2 on the right with a space in between. I have an exhaust plate I would like to keep exposed so I'm looking for the 2 on the left, 2 on the right. I might just call Borla directly and see what they say.

Here's our Borlas.
They came on the car when we bought it a few months ago. In trying to determine what they are, as best I can tell from the catalogs on the web, they're "Stingers", and the ONLY Borla choice for our C5. Our car also has the C5 logo exhaust plate that you can't see in the pic.
They have a NICE growl, with no drone on the highway. Looks like the previous owner did a full cat-back system, including an "X pipe".
I LOVE 'em!
Post up with any info you learn, please!

When I go to Borlas website and pick my make, year and model it shows a few different systems and mentions two muffler types (S-Type which are the Stingers and Touring). When I do a search on google and look for vids on Youtube for the Touring mufflers all I get are hits pertaining to the C6. Hopefully the Stingers are the only ones available for our C5. It would make knocking what I saw and heard in person today that much easier.
Thanks for the pic BAMvette. They look great. Is your car a 6 speed or an auto?

My '99 coupe came with a Borla Touring catback setup. Borla still makes the Touring. I like it, especially the big quad 4" tips. It's a hit or miss - some times I wish it was louder but am also happy with the current low-key growl. It won't wake the dead but still has an aggressive sound. Sounds like you want the Stinger setup.
Send Borla an email with any questions. I bought my 'vette in January. Only had a registration form for the Borla setup with a serial number. I sent them an email with the serial number hoping they could tell me what my exhaust was. They got back to me telling me it was a Touring catback system from 1999.

If you click my Avatar, it will bring you to my profile page here on CF. I believe I have the Borla Stingers you like.
These are the choices if you want to see the differential cover...
The below hold true whether you have an automatic or manual transmission If you have an automatic (like me), and want the agressive Borla Stingers, then you need to search for model 140038. This model comes with round tips (as shown on my car).
If you want the agressive Borla Stingers and round tips that are cut on an angle (tip style 29), then you should request model 140039.
If you do not want the agressive mufflers, and like the round tips that are cut on an angle (tip style 29), then you want model 14946.
Those are the choices if you want to see the differential cover
Best of luck to you.
