Default QTP cutout controller placement

Hey guys, had the QTP cutouts on the car for about two years and finally broke down to buy the digital controller and am almost done installing it tonight. Does anyone have any pics of where they installed the controller? I had the original switch where the cigarette lighter was in the center console, but don't want to leave a large hole routing the wire to the controller there. Thanks in advance!

PS: Did a search for about 10 minutes but didn't see any pics of where it is placed...

I have DMH's, but I put the switch between the AH/TC switch and the ash tray. I put it in the flat area.

Hope that helps.

Got any pics of it? Did you cut a hole in the side of the ash tray or just leave it out?

I removed the actual ashtray and pulled the wires through the side with the lighter and the front cover still closes.

I can take a better picture this evening if you'd like.

I looked at taking the controller apart and molding it into the AH location. The problem is the red display would be on and bright all the time.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll be moving mine up there, fits in perfectly! I'll no longer have to ask the passenger to move there arm to lift up the console either! Plus I get the accessory plug back haha.

The only thing I don't like about the digital controller is it closes the cutouts when you turn the ignition.

Did you ground the trigger wire? Talked with QTP today and they said 90% of people don't unless their running engine management systems. I know I'm not grounding mine once I get this all buttoned up tonight!

Nope. I taped it off and stuffed it under the console.
