Hi guys, probably an awful idea because car dealerships screw you on trade in, but what do you think I could get for my 1997 C5? She is in excellent shape, 86,800 miles, silver. Some details here on my FS add: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-c...13-999-or.html
I don't know if you can use this as any type of guide, But the Chevy Dealership here in Champaign Illinois told me 2 weeks ago that they would give me $17,000 for my 2001 Z06 with 20000 miles on it towards a 2007 Z06 with 2000 miles they had for marked $55,000.. I told them I'd rather buy their Z06 for $40000 Cash! Sadly, they didn't take my offer.

Man, 17,000 is what I bought my 97 for 2 years ago, I think everyone is playing this "our economy is bad" thing too much.
I just saw a 97 with the 82,000 on the clock sell for $15,500 from an individual within a block from my house. I think you could do better selling it outright with summer around the corner.

You Too!?
I think it is a 2008 (black). They had a red '07, but I didn't bother with it.
Did you drive it?
I did, it was a sweet ride!
Still have my 2002. They priced it cause they knew it. When I got home, I took it out for a spin. No regrets.
I will one day have a Z06, but apparently I am not going to trade my '02 coupe away for one

It's sad but they will probley say about 10k. You should just keep it. It's to nice to let go for that kind of money
That is the plan if I cannot sell her, maybe im just going about selling it the wrong way. I've tried on here, a couple nibbles, Craigslist, Cars.com (a cheap, short listing though), and I listed it at $12,500 on Ebay and no one bid on it!!!! Isnt that crazy!! I would buy this for $12,500 in a second, if that makes sense
Nice car, great shots of it.Looks like you have taken care of it.I think you should be able to sell it outright with spring comming.I would not give it away to the dealer, but sometimes its easy to do it that way.Does the dealer have a vette that your looking at?????You are in the drivers seat.Tell them what you want for your car. They will not give it to you,but you never know.............

Should I just put a For Sale sign on her? This is actually the first time im living in an apartment in a while, and I dont even have a garage for her at the moment, I have it covered in the parking lot to keep it clean and safe. I doubt many people in the apartment can afford a sports car right now but maybe

A sign in the window is a sign of desperation in this economy.
You may want to consider the sales tax difference you would also get on trade-in. That could make some difference versus selling it outright. Six percent of $12,000 is $720.
Oh yeah, I didnt think of that. I think im going to put an add in the paper, if that doesnt work I guess I can just hold on to my awesome vette
