Been noticing that the vette was struggling to start over the last couple days, today it was really slow to start almost to the point that it wouldnt start(slow chugging and then eventually fires up). I put on the battery charger last night and that didnt help.
Is it difficult to change the starter? Ive done brakes etc but never a starter.
check all connections and have someone load test your battery before attacking the starter
I even had the Battery charger set to 10a on while attempting to start and it struggled to start. I assume this would enable the battery to run at Full charge

not necessarily. I've seen batteries that were bad and a boost was no help. I think the zone will load test free
I agree with the others about the battery. Take it out of the car and bring it somewhere and have them load test it. It should hold 10 volts under load and be somewhere around 12.3 to 12.6 when fully charged.
Check the battery connections of course and the battery to starter connection. Don't forget that its electrically hot down there. There's been a rash of solenoid failures lately but do the load test on the battery first.
Reinstall Exhaust, and spend about 1/2 hour getting the tips straight again
Reconnect Battery & set the clock on your stereo(if you're lucky, that's all you'll need to reset)
Crank it over, and hope the parts store sold you a good one.
If so,drive around for awhile, let it cool down, lift it back up,and retighten all exhaust bolts
That's it.
Got my local mechanic to do it, turned out it was the starter. He put in a new one in and only charged me $300 including labour and tax! Funny cause the parts place wanted 260+taxes and 29 core charge.
