well i cut my stock mufflers off to add a set of pypes violators and the car is extremly queit.even with just striaght pipes it really really queit. are the cats bad because i do get a smell. i have heard stock cars with borla that are louder then me with straight pipes. help

The cats, and H-pipe will keep it from being loud. I chg'ed to Kook's headers, X-pipe & high performance cats & Ti Z06 exhaust. The cars sounds great but its not as loud as my old C3. You need to swap out the cats.
Straight pipes should definitely make it louder. What diameter pipes are you using? Check and see if the pipes aren't clogged from something...maybe that's where the smell comes from...otherwise you should hear a difference. Indy
