exhaust why so quiet

well i cut my stock mufflers off to add a set of pypes violators and the car is extremly queit.even with just striaght pipes it really really queit. are the cats bad because i do get a smell. i have heard stock cars with borla that are louder then me with straight pipes. help

if your getting a smell the cats could be going try a set of high flow cats and you should get a louder exhaust good luck

Straight pipes should definitely make it louder. What diameter pipes are you using? Check and see if the pipes aren't clogged from something...maybe that's where the smell comes from...otherwise you should hear a difference. Indy
