I've posted this before I think (years ago), but any new ideas on lowering the seating position? I've cut down the bumpstop on the power motor mechanism so that the seat "bottoms out" lower now. Could use a little more - I've removed the sun visors and such but my head is still "in" the roof. How thick is the headliner, and what does it look like underneath? Was thinking of just removing my headliner to create a little more space.
Any decent seats that will help? I'd like some sort of factory or factory-style seats (C6 any better?). No race seats, need lots of adjust ability to fit
When I was first looking for a C5 I was worried about being too tall and found a thread about adjusting the springs under the seat so that it allows your butt to sag in to the seat more. I'm not sure if you've seen that before but I don't think I have a link to the thread.
If you have a coupe, maybe the clear roofs are thinner than the solid ones? I've never looked at them next to each other before.

Just pulled mine off (was sagging and needed a re-glue) the liner is only about as thick as a piece of thin cardboard. Not much to gain there. Not sure of the differance from coupe to FRC?
Mmm it's an FRC so that doesn't help unfortunately.
How many of the springs did you pull from the seat bottom? I can try that...
Dope
I didn't have to do it, I was able to adjust the seat and I fit very easily in my coupe. I'm only 6' 3" though. Try searching, or maybe someone else has a link for the spring adjustment.
I think people were just attaching something to the ends of the springs to make them an inch or 2 longer to allow for more sag. But I don't remember what they were using.

Hmmm I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, I'll try again when I'm not so tired. I'm thinking of maybe just disconnecting every other spring to get more sag. Or worst case, removing the covers and trimming the foam down. But the covers will have slack in them then, hmmm.
Believe it or not I'm only about 6'4". I am very tall from the waist up though (short legs). Bumps can be painful because I hit my head. And I can't wear a helmet at all. Normal driving my (very short) hair is rubbing the headliner. I have the seat as low as it goes and leaned back too (which I don't like, arms too far from the steering wheel).
