Default Halltech Check Engine Light

I just installed a Halltech Venom on my Z today. I took it out for a drive and everything seemed fine. I came home and park it for a bit and came out to run some erans but this time when I started it the check engine light was on! Anyone had this problem?

I had one on my car for about 3 weeks no problem, I took it off to re adjust it so it wouldnt hit my hood then the next day bam code. lean bank 1. cleared it and a few hours later lean bank 1 again.

did everything I could think of, and it didnt help at all, I was throwing a code everytime the car was driven, lean bank 1 and 2 so I just took it off till i get my headers installed and tuned.

You likely have an air leak. Most likely someplace around the coupler seals. Make sure you don't have the clamps out of position and pay particular attention to the notch area. On the other clamp make sure it is behind the ridge of the throttle body and not over it. Also make sure that the coupler closest to the throttle body isn't pulling away at the bottom when you apply slight pressure on the top of the air bridge. This occurs when you close the hood. It's a tight fit there. I had exactly the same problem. It went away one I made sure of a proper seal. I definitely had a leak despite appearances that everything was fine.

I just bought a Z with a Halitech Venom and I am also getting the Lean code CEL. I will try and adjust the intake as well, although everything looks OK.

The Varamram gets them too. I did a search and it looks like every intake can get them.

Last question. I tried tightning all the connections again but still getting lean codes. It only happens when I close the hood. But my question is, how tight of a fit is the Venom supposed to be?? Cause I found it quite tight when installing, I don't think it should fit in the space so tight. Is everyones else the same way?

I got the lean code when I installed my Venom. I checked and rechecked everything. I finally just told my Predator that I was using 5% smaller injectors and the light went away.

I am willing to bet all of you throwing the lean CEL's are running with the MAF that have no screens...

I had the same problem when I added a Haltech. I was told this is a common issue with 02-04 Z06's. They come from the factory lean, and adding a CAI makes it worse. Just take the car to a tuner, get it dyno-tuned and you'll be fine.

Sounds like something is wrong. FWIW I addded 1 7/8 LT headers, x-pipe, and a Venom. After ~1k miles I haven't had it tuned yet and not getting anything but rear o2 codes.

Mine's an '03 and has no screen. I'm pretty sure GM stopped using the screen after a certain year.

The lack of a screen is what causes the problem, or at least was the problem mine was having. GM started using screens again for the C6 Vettes.

You either have to tune it or replace your MAF with a C6 MAF.

Will a C6 MAF fit and work with no problem on a C5 Z?

Whats the diffrence? Why wouldnt my car throw codes using a C6 MAF vs a C5's? Is the screen the only reason? and will the screen cause any HP loss?
