I tried my painted one once, and have used the smoked one ever since - it makes the interior more open, and gives you a little more headroom than the painted one.

I had both tops on my '99, only the lexan one on the '00. When I had both tops, I'd say 99% of the time I used the lexan one. I just liked being able to see out the top. There really weren't that many days that it was so hot that the solid top would have made a huge difference.
Acrylic top nov - may -- painted one during hottest months in Texas. I like the acrylic much better but mine is a DD so it sits outside during the day -- gets Way to hot in the summer.
Painted top when I drove it home and the first couple days. Clear top now everyday... More headroom and I like being able to see out the top. Plus if your single, the ladies like it more too...
