Default Which top do you use?

For those of you with both tops for your C5, which one do you typically have on the car?

Why or why not?

Just curious...

I tried my painted one once, and have used the smoked one ever since - it makes the interior more open, and gives you a little more headroom than the painted one.

I use the solid top year around. I find it lets in less road noise, it's cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

smoked one seems like it makes the car feel roomier.

Same here. In the summer, I have an insert that keeps the heat out. PLUS......I really like the contrast.

Smoked or none at all. I like the open feeling. Would have a vert if they had a larger trunk.

Tried my glass roof once, the day I drove the car home. Took it off, sold it 2 1/2 years later. Made too much noise, especially in the rain.

I had both tops on my '99, only the lexan one on the '00. When I had both tops, I'd say 99% of the time I used the lexan one. I just liked being able to see out the top. There really weren't that many days that it was so hot that the solid top would have made a huge difference.

Made a special holder in the garage for the painted top...put it on once and didn't like it.

The painted top most of the time. I like the clear roof, but it rattles much more than the painted lid does.

Acrylic top nov - may -- painted one during hottest months in Texas. I like the acrylic much better but mine is a DD so it sits outside during the day -- gets Way to hot in the summer.

Painted top when I drove it home and the first couple days. Clear top now everyday... More headroom and I like being able to see out the top. Plus if your single, the ladies like it more too...

Now if I could just get ladies to like me....

I use the painted one b/c the glass one looked weird once I had the windows tinted. The painted one goes better on my car.

Most of the time I cruise around with just the convertable top. But, occassionally I'll throw the hard top on.
