Default Lowering the Rear

Alright, I cut my front bushings and got a great stance in the front. Now Im looking to drop the rear just about an inch. I do have longer bolts in there already. My question is... How many threads do I have to go in order to go down an inch?

IIRC correctly, the stock bolts have a 2mm thread pitch. This means that the threads make a 360 wrap in 2mm of axial bolt length. This should be true of your aftermarket bolts, but may not be. You should double check. (English thread pitch is stated in threads per inch; i.e. a 1/4-28 bolt is 0.25" Dia and has 28 threads in one inch).

There are 25.4mm per inch, meaning you'd need about 12.5 turns of the nut to lower the car 1 inch AT THE BOLT. This will not linearly translate to the percieved distance lowered at the wheel well, or as measured between a flat surface and the frame rails, but it should be damned close.

Hope that helps.
