I need to get an HID lighting package, headlights and fog lights actually, and here's what I'm thinking.
White headlights, maybe 3000K, and then getting a slightly blue fog lights, maqybe 7000K. I like driving with just the fog lights on occasionally.
My question is, has anyone ever done this and does it look funny having two shades of light when both sets are on?
Second, whom do you recommend buying them from? I'm pretty mechanically inclined but a good set of directions is always helpful. I'd rather spend an hour reading directions than 4 hours figuring it out myself.

3000k is not white. 3000k is yellow. Do not buy them for your headlights.
I would stick with 4300k or 5000k. You can't tell the difference between the two really. I've never heard of 7000k. 6000k is a good temp. It is basically a white with a hint of blue.
There is nothing wrong with 4300k lows and 6k fogs, but most people stick to the same temp on both.
You can order them from me. I have lots of knowledge on HIDs for the C5. Send me a PM when you are ready.
These things are really easy to install. When you lay everything out it all makes sense. I've installed these on 10+ vehicles in person.

Thanks Jhonathan, My only experience with HID lighting is with a coral fish tank and some other inside growing projects ...pretty sure 7000K, 10,000K and even 15,000K are common in those applications.
I definitely don't want yellow though. I'm concerned that too much blue tint will look funny on a Bowling Green Metallic Corvette.
Exactly as JW said. Sounds like you want 4300k low beams and 6000k fogs. You'll be VERY impressed with the output and color. If you do a bit more reading you will find that it's likely you'll also need the resistor harness to assist in keeping the popup lights functioning normally. Good Luck

I will PM you.
I'm a fellow reef keeper, we are currently running 400w Icecap MHs and 110w 10k icecap atinics. Trust me, those colors you've already been given are the correct colors.

I wouldn't go high unless you do the mod that keeps the lows on with your highs. The reason I say this is because HID lamps take about 8 seconds to fully warm up and produce 100% of their light. If you flash to highs you're night vision will be jacked up.
The resistor is sold for $25. It comes with 2 resistors now. These go on both sides.
I have 6k in my car and there is not really any blue to be seen. Its more of a hyper white shine. Also with the kit I got I didn't need a resister, lights work perfect.
