So I was just pulling on to the highway this weekend and got a "reduced engine power" alarm. Not being able to get over 40 mph on the highway I put my hazards on and got off the next exit. Already feeling like sh*t b/c of the situation, a sweet looking silver C6 pulls up behind me on the off ramp. And you know how when other nice cars are around (especially another vette) you want your ride to look its best and here I am about ready to stall out. Putting along, i finely get to a side street and pull over to investigate the problem. Well, not a minute later that silver C6 pulls up that side street to see whats going on and to offer his help. Tools and all he was ready to give a hand. So kind sir, if your on this forum I would just like to thank you again and thank all the helpful people on this forum in general.
Luckily the only thing I could find wrong was a blown Maxi-Fuse for the 2nd cooling fan and I didn't need to take up the guys time. Now I just need to find out why it blew and reduced my egine power so heavily. Funny thing is I haven't even replaced it yet but now the car is running completely normal.

Stopping for a Vette in trouble is part of the Vette Owner's Code of Conduct. Obviously your knight in shining C6 armor is familiar with the "code". And to think a lot of people on this forum criticize C6 owners as a bunch of stuck up jerks.....guess it takes all kinds!
As far as your issue - I would think the car would have thrown a code on the DIC. Have you checked? In case you don't know how to do that - http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm
that's awesome to see such a close knit group of people. Just in the 2 weeks i've owned my 02, I've yet to pass another vette of any generation that's failed to waive as they pass by. It's pretty awesome having such a great group of people.
As for your actual problem, wish I could help you more.

You should drive around here a little bit. I wave to everyone I pass. Maybe half of them wave back.
